We began this endeavor to provide the absolute best pure natural true blue soap in 1996. Many products today have become over processed and with technology, have gone away from the patience found in refinement.

Genuine Blue Balm® products contain no SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) and no petro-chemicals. Our handmade soaps are pure and natural, without any synthetic preservatives, artificial hardeners or artificial colourants.

Blue Balm products do not use any ingredients that have/are tested on animals. Our suppliers also maintain this same cruelty-free standard. We are proud pledge members of the Leaping Bunny Certification Program.

We use only beneficial ingredients such as coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, castor oil and shea butter. Blue Balm products are purely made with wild and natural herbs, essential oils and organic ingredients.

It takes 4 to 6 weeks for our handmade soap to reach maturity. And yes, we still make it just 41 pounds at a time. And yes again, it is found exclusively in finer Salons, Spas, Dermatoligist offices and select stores in the USA.

  While commercial soap companies commonly remove beneficial "glycerin" and sell it as a by-product. Blue Balm soap retains all the natural glycerin.

  In ancient times, lubricating greases were made by the addition of lime to olive oil. Is that why some people put lime in there beer? Just asking.

  "saponification" - the hydrolysis of a fat by an alkali with the formation of a soap and glycerol. Simply, water + fat + lye = soap with glycerin.

  When soap is made correctly there is no "lye" remaining. Lye is actually a salt...sodium. No lie, really.

  Blue Balm soap slow cures for up to 6 weeks in order to naturally harden. We like to think it's like fine wine.
